How do I personalize my profile?
You can manage your account settings at any time by clicking Account at the top of the page. If you’re on a mobile device, you'll find this menu via the three lines in the top left corner. You have the ability to customize your profile, privacy settings, email settings, and other account information. We’ll highlight a few options here!
About me
You have the option to add more demographics to your profile, plus the benefit of highlighting your personal and medical journey. Click the edit icon in the upper right corner of each section to make changes.
Use the Headline section to introduce yourself in a few sentences. Your headline is often the first thing members will see and gives you the opportunity to showcase your personality, health history, and why you chose to join PatientsLikeMe!
When you are comfortable and ready to share more, include additional details about your journey in the Share your story section.
Email settings
Click My email settings to make adjustments to DailyMe alerts, notifications, and to unsubscribe from unwanted emails. Once you update an email setting, it can take up to 48 hours for the changes to take effect.
*As a friendly reminder, even if you set all of the notification settings to "No", you will still receive essential communications from PatientsLikeMe via email, for instance like resetting a password, or for important company notices like changes to the Privacy Policy.
Additional account settings
From here, you will also find your list of followers, which members you yourself are following, the ability to sync your FitBit, and more.
How do I change my username?
Reach out to our support team here. We recommend that you pick a username which is not the same as your real name. Feel free to send a few suggestions along just in case one may be already taken on the site.
