Who is Ella? 

Ella is the A.I. Personal Health Navigator that supports each of our members on PatientsLikeMe. Ella understands the challenges of finding the best resources and support for various health conditions and she’s here to help you get more out of your PatientsLikeMe experience. Ella helps PLM members navigate the complexities of their health, understand their health data, and discover solutions that simplify their life. 

How can Ella help me better manage my health? 

Ella’s job is to help you find the community support, tools, and resources you need to improve your wellbeing. She provides guidance on resources and treatment options tailored to your specific health situation. Ella provides insights from the data you track on PLM, combined with the collective wisdom of the community to help explain the next best option for you to take to manage your care.

How does Ella know what can help me? 

Ella is powered by the experiences and insights of hundreds of thousands of PatientsLikeMe members. Her advice and recommendations are shaped by the information shared by the community. Ella learns from the shared experiences of our members so she can offer personalized suggestions and support tailored to you.

Ella is also continuously updated with the latest medical research and information by a team of experts, ensuring her knowledge remains accurate and current. Collaboration with experts ensures that Ella's knowledge reflects the latest insights in managing your health.

How do I connect with Ella on the PLM website?

Once you have logged into the PatientsLikeMe website, Ella is available in the bottom corner of each page of the PLM site.

From there, you can decide how much information you would like to share with Ella from your PLM profile. Your privacy is important to us, so you decide if you want to share health data, demographics only or no information at all. The more information Ella learns from your profile, the better she can assist you.

You can use the text box to start chatting with Ella. If you aren’t quite sure what to ask, Ella will also offer you a few questions to kick off the conversation, which are located in the blue squares at the bottom of the panel. You can write questions to Ella as you would a close friend; She will guide you to the information you need.   

Don’t forget, you can view or delete your chat history with Ella by clicking History at the top of the panel. When you are finished chatting, click the X at the top right corner to go back to where you left off on PLM.

How do I connect with Ella on the PLM app?

Once you have logged into the PatientsLikeMe app, version 1 Ella is available in the center of the bottom menu. In the coming months, we’ll be completing work on Ella’s app interface to match the PLM website, so stay tuned!
